Our very own David Morgan, Lay Clerk and Education Officer here at the Minster, launches his second book based on his research of the Minster's History. Aptly titled Minster Notes, the book explores the stories behind many of the organists and musical directors of the church in the past 200 plus years. Some of the current musicians involved in music making in the Minster will perform as part of the launch. Like Minster Tales, the new book will be published by Filament Publishing who are based locally in Croydon. Chris Day, the managing director, will be present on this evening. Among the musical directors remembered in the book are the man who was the first professional organist appointed in 1794, the person who co-wrote an opera performed both in London and Edinburgh, and Martin How, the current Organ Laureate. Come and find out more on the night!
