We are pleased to announce that the Reverend Olufolake Makanjuola (known as Folake), presently Assistant Curate at St Peter with St Margaret, in the Diocese of Rochester, has been appointed Priest in Charge (Team Vicar Designate) at Croydon, St Andrew and also Associate Priest at Croydon Minster, subject to completion of the necessary procedures. Details of the public service of welcome and licensing will follow in due course.
Greeting the people of St Andrew’s, Mother Folake said:
It is with great honour that I accept the role of priest-in charge at Croydon St. Andrew. During these uncertain times, this appointment brings a great deal of joy and excitement to me and my family; a chance for a new beginning and the opportunity to join the family of Croydon St Andrew and its wider community. As we are all striving to adjust to changing circumstances around us, it is comforting to know that the love of God is constant, and that He remains the same today and always.
Finally, I would like to extend my thanks to everyone who has made this journey possible, and in particular to Bishop Jonathan Clark, Archdeacon Rosemarie Mallett, Rev. Andrew Bishop, Mr. George Browning, and Sam Bascombe, who have all placed their confidence in me to carry out this role. The peace of the Lord be always with us all.
