Church of Croydon: St John the Baptist (CROYDON MINSTER)

NOTICE IS GIVEN that we are applying to the Consistory Court of the diocese for permission to carry out the following:

external re-landscaping around Croydon Minster, including: Alterations to / removal of walls and hedging; relocation of car parking areas; children’s play equipment in St John’s Memorial Gardens; Alterations to paths; Relocation or destruction of headstones; Removal of some existing trees; Planting of various new trees; New forecourt landscaping (with seating and planting); External lighting improvements to site and building; heritage trail signage. To confirm the digging of three pits in St John’s Memorial Gardens in January 2020 (to investigate ground conditions prior to the design and submission of the proposals to install play facilities).

Note. These proposals involve the relocation of headstones and monuments within the churchyard. They do not involve the relocation of any graves within the churchyard.

If you wish to object to any of the works or proposals you should send a letter or email stating the grounds of your objection to The Diocesan Registrar, Minerva House, 5 Montague Close, London SE1 9BB / SouthwarkRegistry@wslaw.co.uk so that your letter reaches the registrar not later than 15 JULY 2021.

A letter of objection must include your name and address and state whether you live in the parish and/or your name is entered on the church electoral roll of the parish or any other basis on which you have an interest in the matter.
