This group meets weekly on Tuesdays at 11.45 in the small church hall to spend some time reflecting on a piece of scripture and trying to discern how God might be speaking individually to each of us through it. For most of the year we focus on the gospel for the day; though at certain times of the church’s year, such as Lent, we may study passages from a particular Book of the Bible to reflect other programmes used at that time. Anyone who wishes to join us is welcome.
The Julian Prayer Group
We are an ecumenical group practising contemplative prayer, based on the writings of Julian of Norwich. Meetings usually start with a reading, followed by a period of silence and conclude with a shorter reading and prayers.
We meet at the Whitgift Almshouses chapel in North End at 2.30pm on the first and third Monday of each month, Bank Holidays included. We follow our meetings with refreshments and fellowship in the Almshouses’ Common Room.
