‘Living faith in the ancient heart of Croydon’

Croydon Minster is an open church in spirit and practice: everyone is welcome.
The heart of this place is our worship, when we open ourselves to God in word and sacrament on Sundays, and day by day, enriched by the music of the Anglican choral tradition.
We keep this historic building open during the day as a place where people can come to pray, sit, rest or just ponder and be still.
We are honoured to serve the civic life of Croydon and to be the place of many baptisms, weddings, funerals and other occasions for the people of our town.

Important: Upcoming Access Changes & Pedestrian Diversions

Starting Monday, 5th May, essential works will be extending across the Minster forecourt. For the safety of the public and to allow work to proceed, there will be significant changes to how you access the church and the surrounding grounds.

Pedestrian Diversion
Forecourt Closure: It will not be possible to walk through the forecourt to reach the Memorial Gardens or Howley Road.
Diversion Route: If you are travelling north from Howley Road, you will need to divert via Old Palace Road.
Notice Points: Barriers and closure notices will be in place at the southern end of St John’s Memorial Gardens to prevent unnecessary backtracking.

St John’s Memorial Gardens
The Gardens are likely to be temporarily closed to the general public during this period to maintain site safety and security.
Gardening Group: If you are part of the gardening team and need access, please contact the Parish Office so we can coordinate entry (likely via the Howley Road entrance).

West Doors. Please be advised that starting from Sunday, 10th May, the West Doors (the main entrance) will be closed until the ongoing external works are completed.

During this time, please use the North Door (the entrance facing the Green) to enter and exit the Minster.
