Welcome to
Croydon Minster

Welcome to Croydon Minster, a church with a living past, a vibrant present and a hope-filled future. You’re welcome to connect with us online and we would love to meet you in person.

We hope everyone can feel able to be part of the community here – diverse ages and backgrounds – as together we explore the deep meaning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; as people have done for over a thousand years. That’s why we say the Minster is ‘the ancient and enduring spiritual heart of Croydon’.

Ours is an open church in spirit and practice: everyone is welcome. We open ourselves to God in word and sacrament on Sundays, and day by day, enriched by the music of the Anglican choral tradition, so that we may be shaped and formed to live the Gospel faithfully.

We keep the building open during the day as a place where people can come to pray, sit, rest or just ponder and be still.

We are honoured to serve the civic life of Croydon and to be the place of many baptisms, weddings, funerals and other occasions for the people of our town.

SAVE THE DATE

The Revd Canon Andrew Bishop to be Vicar of Croydon

Having served nearly six years as Priest in Charge, Fr Andrew is to be Instituted and Inducted as Vicar of Croydon. In practice this changes little in his day to day ministry but restores the historic title of Vicar of Croydon and focuses mission and industry across the parish of Croydon, at Croydon Minster and St George’s, Waddon.

The Institution, by the Bishop of Croydon, and Induction, by the Archdeacon of Croydon, will take place on Sunday 8th September at 5.30pm followed by refreshments.
